Gearbox problems on 99 1.2 clio

Hi, i've been having a few problems selecting 1st and 2nd gear on my clio. It only happens occasionally, but i'll go to change into either first or second and the gearstick just won't go in. At other times you have to give the gearstick a really hard yank to get it to change, which obviously can't be doing the gearbox any good. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be, and if so how much it would cost to put right? Any help would be much appreciated!

I was just about to post the same question. I have the same problem on my 1.6 Clio, only going into 2nd and 3rd. is there an easy fix eg. adjustment to the selector?
