05 megane window problems

My mates windows have gone wrong the rear work fine but the front do not.The front passenger window has not worked for a while now the drivers window does not work but sometimes goes up and down on its own accord with the switch clicking like mad.I have heard that this is a regular problem on these cars does anyone know of the cause is it new switch or more than that.

Don't know about renaults but on citroen and peugeots the wiring between the door and body breaks causing these symptoms.
