forum noob would like some help please
Discussion
hi all i am pretty new to the whole forum thing so be nice :P
i just bought a mint vts, its completely standard other than a carbon induction kit for a bargin price. supposedly theres a valve or something that recirculates exhausts gases around the engine to cut down on emissions, its called an edf valve or something like that, according to a spanner happy mate this system is actually causing the car to run not quiet as well as it should/ could be. any ideas as i really don't have a clue if this is a myth or infact true. any help would be greatly recieved.
cheers

What he's referring to is the EGR system (exhaust gas recirculation), which indeed does help reduce emissions by bypassing some of the exhaust gases back to the engine's intake.
I have no knowledge of Saxos, so can't comment on whether or not the car A.) has an EGR valve , or B.) the EGR system would cause the car to be running poorly if it was damaged in some way.
However if the system is all in order, then I dont' recommend touching it in order to find performance or anything like that.
