I've got a 2005 Citroen C5 auto (2.0 16V)

Have been doing a lot of stop/start and very slow driving today. About half an hour ago, again crawling in traffic, the service light came on and the screen reported 'Speed Control System Faulty'.

Car was thrown into limp mode so I parked it up and switched off for 5 mins.

Restarted; computer still reported fault and service light came on but it allowed me to drive home (another mile) normally.

I never use the speed limiter, do use cruise, but haven't used it at all today.

Car has given given faultless service - am I looking at a grievous bill or is this something and nothing?

Try unplugging abs unit and plugging back in,the speed sensors work off this ,sometimes it's just a bad connection.

Thanks for the reply - sory to not reply more promptly.

Turns out an oil leak had contaminated one of the 'chips'. Wiped clean and running fine now smile
