Looking for a car and quite liking the little 106.
Said I'd never buy french, but theres something about it I like. Need something small, fun and cheap to run - will they fit the bill?

The Rallye seems to command a premium over the gti, is this justified and will the rallye hold its price better?
Only recently started looking into the cars, and know the rallye is 8v against 16v gti and the rallye is lighter.

Any other major differences?
Which is most fun to drive, any major problems that affect either of them?

Ideally after a standard car as well (ie. not modified), which seems hard!

Personally i think the 106 gti would be a better buy.

Yes the rallye is probably a great laugh, and will most likely depreciate very little, and is quite an exclusive little hatch. I just would rather have the extra 8 valves, electrics, sound deadening, and generally nicer interior for less money. I mean really its a better car for less money in some cases.

Lets be fair though, you won't go far wrong with either because they are both great. I've owned a 306 rallye and remembered some days wanting the gti for the air con/nicer seats/electrics, same thing really. Just with the 106 rallye/gti, there the engine differance too.

So yeah, i vote gti smile in sundance yellow or china blue.
