Today something has gone disasterously wrong! 182 is off the road, and going 2-up on my bike today has worn the tyre down to the threads.... so no transport = not good!

The 182 has failed it's MOT because of "major leak" on the exhaust (somewhere CAT back).

Renault want ~£750 for the standard system, so I'm on the hunt for a replacement. 2nd hand standard preferable, but may consider aftermarket ~£350 - don't really want to modify car because of insurance though...

I'm trawling cliosport & renaultsportsclub to no avail.

Any ideas?? (Or recomendations)

get a nice stainless steel exhaust system from a known manufacturer, most insurance companies wont even raise the price and just want to be notified of any change.

ring them and ask them, perfect excuse for a better sounding and breathing car.

I had the same issue 6 months ago .. not really possible to weld it up even though I have the equipent .. the end box is too thin ..

I ended up with a KTEC stealth .. price has come down too now..

Looks like I'm going to try and get hold of a Scorpion RS192.

Supposed to be quiet, with a nice tone. No complaints about quality on the forums either. Insurance OK with aftermarket <10% power increase.

Backup plan is to see if Yozzasport have any standard systems hanging around. They've been very helpful over bank holiday weekend.

Going to be hectic next week. Off to Berlin on Friday. Need to get new rear tyre for the bike, fit exhaust, go back for MOT re-test in between.
