Ok, seems I can't get on drivers at the moment so just incase someone knows the answer, will the XU10J2CTE engine fit the 205 bay without moving the master cylinder?

Seems most have done this to LHD shells which is most definatly not my intention but makes missing the cylinder and servo a non existant problem, I actually want to be able to see round what i'm overtaking...

On a related note, but not what you want to hear am afraid, what's the best way of moving the MC?

Is it just a case of re-angling it with washers or something all together more fun?

Was discussing last night with some motorsport friends and the concensus is to bin the servo and mc and use a bias pedal box, leaves room for the boost hoses to come through which is the issue. I think moving or repositioning it is a pain in the backside so doing away seems to be the anwser.

The engine will fit with the original MC in place, you just need to work your inlet pipework around it. Although i fitted a smaller servo (from an XS) to mine in order to gain clearance for the turbo, didnt effect braking just gave a stiffer pedal.

As for moving the MC, i have re-angled it on my latest (gti6) conversion. I did this by shaping two 5mm thick steel washers and inserting them over the bottom most bolts that attach the servo to the pedal box, thus pushing the bottom outwards . It may also be useful in gaining extra clearence for the turbo conversion

Heres a pic of that:

And heres a pic of my turbo engine fitted, showing the space between the standard boost crossover pipe and the XS servo:-

Pfft... what other questions do you have? lol

Its quite an involved conversion (in comparison to the mi16/gti6) so there are lots of things to discuss.

If you hit a problem post it up and i will try my best to help you. Heres a pic of my finished conversion btw, it produced 231bp & 242lb/ft smile

Have a look through the 'readers cars' section - there was a long thread perhaps 2 years ago with many many photos.
