Peugeot 206 snapped dip-stick!
Discussion
I need a quick bit of advice please ladies and gentlemen. Just been checking the oil level on a Peugeot 206 1.4 (petrol) 2002 model year and the dip-stick snapped as I was pushing it back in! Right at the bottom of the tube! Pulled it back out and there's the main three inches of the plastic end missing.
My concern is whether it will have dropped into the sump or whether it is likely to still be safely held at the bottom of the tube. Am I safe to start the engine?
Any thoughts, or advise on how to get it out much appreciated.
Cheers,
Adrian.

Your car will have the tu series engine fitted, the dip stick tube is only push fitted to the block, unblock the top mounting point and see if you can remove the tube and see the end of the stick inside.
If not its a case of removing the sump to retreive it, i doubt it will cause any damage should it be in the sump as it will soon get mashed up as its only plastic.
