Hi all, My Mum has just returned to Peugeot after 6 happy years with Mazda, she just bought a 2008 308 SE 1.6VTi(120) with pretty much everything, really nice car. As she's bought this, I've got to find my own car, with a budget of £3,600. I'm looking at 2004 Renault Clio Dynamique 1.2 16v's, is there anything in particular I should be looking at with these?

Thanks in advance!

These suffer with idle faults witch is the throttle body playing up ! make sure it starts and runs smooth from cold, hot and does not cut out when you come to a stop so give it a good road test . cambelts should be done at 72,000 or 5 years which ever comes first so being a 2004 it should of been done. then just cheak elecs etc !

If you do get one then make sure the bonnet catch is lubed and moves freely or the bonnet could flip up when driving. Admittedly a small risk but easy to negate.

Ah yeah, I'd heard about the infamous bonnet catch. I've decided against the Clio, it's just too small and I can only fit if it has a sunroof... Going to look at an 03 Megane 1.4 Dynamique tomorrow

There is an active recall for this, previous owner should of had it done locally.
