Hi guys, had a clutch cable go Saturday and just replaced tonight, all working well however, I've just taken her out for a spin to make sure all is well and whilst putting her to bed I noticed a weird noise coming from the gear box but only when the clutch is depressed, lift off and it goes away. Didn't have this before the cable expired so I'm wondering if I've messed up somewhere? I can't see how but anythings possible. Increases with engine speed in neutral or in gear with pedal depressed. Strange thing is it's not instant, takes a couple of seconds to start?

Any ideas/pushes in the right direction would be awesome.

Cheers

Mike

When the clutch cable went it may have sprung back and damaged your release bearing or losened the friction plate.

Unfortunatly she is a firm believer in that Valentines day thing and failure to be nice this week means no dinner once returned from the garage, no assistance when required with large spanners, no Tea making facilties being maintained, no Tea delivery service, no lunch delivery service, constant abuse regarding noise levels of exhaust, constant abuse regarding comfort levels in the car at any time, she will try and hide my garage keys, she will try and hide my car keys and she will try and hide my tool box keys consistantly until my birthday in July at which point she will be nice until Christmas!!

I have got her P45 ready, just got to get the timing right, redundancy from the Wife position is a hard message to convey!!

She's not that bad but it's not worth no dinner/lunch or cuppa's for the sake of a week or two...

Gotta go, i can hear foot steps...
