Hello again, Wifes 306 HDi has developed a knocking noise when making slow turns, rather like a mine would if the CV had knackered. Assume its similar on a 306, can any Pug experts advise as to whether I am right and do you buy a joint or a whole driveshaft.
(This car goes through periods where it is spend spend spend then settles down for a life of reliability again)

sounds more like a CV to me - does it mainly happen when on full lock? if that's the case its probably the CV. Anyway, it may just be cheaper to pop down the scrappy and nab a whole shaft than repair the existing one.

I haven't heard that its a common problem, although obviously happy to be corrected....
