well i got a magnex full system from abp motorsport in crewe. just need a 4 branch for that extra bit of power, but it sounds awsome not to loud unless you kick it to 7000 rpm very pleased. The only problem is that my engine warning light is on due to the de cat but turn the ignition on and off a few times and it clears it.

You'll probably find that you can't beat a standard system if you're after optimum performance across the rev range.

Wouldnt standard be too restrictive? Or do you mean standard system but with a straight through decat pipe and 4-1 manifold?

surely a full performance system is better than standard.
My system has given me more power across the rev range to start with plus looks and sounds better than standard. But i supose its what you want to achive performance wise. Me id go for full performance system over standard

Generally Pug/Citroen make very good standard systems that are not restrictive. People often compare their new after-market systems with totally sh*gged standard systems that have been on the car for seven years and are full of crap and have loose baffles. The gains they see might not be gains if compared with a new standard pipe.

The only compromise that car manufactures make when making standard exhausts is regarding noise, and they're generally very very good at making systems which are quiet but also very efficient. Noise is an entirely subjective thing anyway; I can't stand the sound of large after-market exhausts, think they sound absolutely crap. Induction noise is so much nicer.

Anyway, my old 106 Rallye stage rally car (see profile pic if you can be bothered) gave better performance on the rollers with a genuine Peugeot exhaust than it did with the OMP Group-N that was fitted when I bought it. It gave marginally better peak power, and also removed the big flat-spot between 4.5k and 5k rpm. And that's really not surprising when you think about it. Peugeot would have spent hundreds of hours optimising their standard system. How long do you think Magnex or any of the other after-market manufacturers spend on each system they produce? Sod all.

I'm sure a brand/nearly new standard system is quite hard to find though...

I still think a performance exhaust is the way to go. I noticed a difference in performance stright away over the standard exhaust the car performed alot better its not loud unless i boot it so i get the best of both although it is a matter of opinion, and its known that you can get good performance with a good induction and exhaust systems from vtr/s, 106 gti.

BTB are the last word in saxo exhausts they are only made in batches of 5 or more and are £500+vat from GMC motorsport.
The magnex is a good alternative if your on a budget.

Visit my friends company they specialise in saxo/106 tuning and I dont mean big bodykits and fluffy dice.

Take a look at their supercharged c2 vts engined saxo vts.

The exception is a 90bhp saxo vtr phase 1.5 they are restricted to hell to justify the price hike for the vts.

following an exhaust failure i replaced my old 106 centre section with the center section from a diesel model.
same amount of silencers, no cat. straight swop like for like.

cant comment on the performance but it certainly was not any worse off...

Full supersprint system including decat is the way to go buddy. While your at it a 4-2-1 manifold would be nice.
