Don't worry this isn't another "What car?" thread but I was just wondering if anybody on here knew the differences between the Renaultsport Clio 197 F1 Team and the Renaultsport Clio 197??
Do they both have quickshift gearboxes..?
I've noticed the F1 Team version has 18" alloys instead of the 17" ones on the normal 197.
Anybody know if there are any other differences..?

Cheers.

Ohh and on posting this, I realised there is no Renault section in the forums..? Is there a reason for this.?!

The F1 Team has Recaro seats and Cup Chassis as standard. They are options on the std 197. Both cars have 17" alloy wheels.

Neither have quickshift gearboxes as far as I'm aware.

A longer ratio top gear was introduced after a little while (perhaps on the F1 I can't remember) as there was some complaint the 197 was too buzzy on the motorway.

Think it was November 2007 production onwards. New ratios mean around 400rpm less at 70mph in 6th.

Both the F1 and "full fat" 197 gained the longer 5th/6th ratios from October 2007. This means that any cars from prior or around this time may have the "old" gearbox, unless replaced under warranty like mine!
