is there a way of stopping the lights coming on automatically ?

Don't know whether its a sport you've got or not but I'd imagine even if it isn't all the systems work the same.


Turn the ignition on.
Twist the light switch on and off twice, you should hear a beep.


That should have done it.

I think its sidelights actually.

Turn the sidelights on and off twice. If you don't hear a beep try the dipped beam.

1. Try what Polarbert suggests;
2. Disconnect the sensor;
3. Don't drive through tunnels or at night.

Why don't you like 'em coming on??

it's not my car, its belongs to a mate, who is fed up with it, as he parks in an underground car park, and the lights coming on for some reason upsets him lol

its not a sport, its a diesel

Hi Martin. wonder if you can help me out m8, i have the same problem you had last year with the 2 ltr engine, i bought a 2nd hand frontera and when i try to start it in the morning it runs for about 30 seconds then cuts out, starts straigh away and repeats its self cutting out again, after about 10 attemps it then runs like a dream, did you solve the problem you had with yours, much appreciated if you could be of any assistance? thanx in advance

yes mate solved mine, i scrapped it and bought a shogun....

no one i took the fronty too could fix it, i gave up in the end. best thing i ever done lol the mitsi is in a different league
