Help required if possible please. The heater fan on my wifes clio 172 has decided to stop working. I've tested the motor itself with direct power and it works fine. The power supply is also ok showing just under 12v so I'm a little confused why it doesn't work. Suggestions would really be appreciated.cheers.

No Renault tech, but sounds like the heater resistor has blown.
Usually heaters have 3 or 4 resistors inline that control the speed of the motor.
Though heater should work on full speed as theres (normally) no resistor as its the full 12v+.

If it is the resistor pack its a pretty easy fix. Have a search on cliosport.net.

Sounds familiar. The heater resistor should be behind/around the fan motor somewhere (if its the same setup as the 5/19). Take the plug out of it and bridge the connections to see if it fires up the fan. If it does, and it should do, get a replacement resistor assembly.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I've swapped the resistor and the fan still refuses to work. Any other suggestions?
Cheers.

Could it be a faulty switch? Something simple like a dirty fuse contact?

I had a similar fan problem on my Citroen ZX a few years ago and got a new resistor for it and fitted it myself. It cured the fault.
