I thought it was just Cat X stolen/recovered?

If its Cat D then thats fair enough. Sounds about right if so.

So whoever stole it broke it?

Description says Cat D but does'nt detail any damage confused

Even states "airbags not deployed" which is always a good sign! laugh

Hard to work out why it ended up Cat D without any damage.

Yeah I know I can't work it out either. All the bodywork looks to be straight, so if it was written off due to damage it would maybe have been chassis that was affected? But I thought websites like that sold the damaged cars and then people who bought them fixed them.

Maybe they just don't have the selection for Cat X and had to put D.

Its a cup-packed car but doesnt have the front spoiler under the bumper - front end damage perhaps? The splitters are notoriously expensive from Renault so may not have been replaced ...

Perhaps, but its very easy to crack one of those splitters on a curb (without totalling the front end!) so I would'nt necessarily take that as proof of a proper shunt. As you say they are expensive (circa £120, been there done that paperbag) so many don't get replaced.

Arent cars classed as cat D if not recovered within a time period? 8weeks IIRC.
