so, as title says is the 206 1.6XS any good, and will i get a better car for the insurance group?
tis a group 5 i think. bout 900-1300 im looking at to spend and there are a few out there,
would for that money, there be any major faults or the engine be spent?

It depends what you want.

In performance terms they are fairly abysmal.

I owned a 206xs for a year as a back-up car whilst I lived in London and have to say, at of all of the cars I have owned it's my least favorite.

They don't seem to be too unreliable in Peugeot terms, however Peugeot's are fairly badly built.

I've got a 106 XS, same engine, lighter car, and a group 6 insurance. Nippy for what it is, and handles well too.
With it being a Peugeot, chances are, yes, there'll be problems, lol.
