Leaked: Renault Megane III
Images of 2009 Megane appear on the interweb
Images of the next generation Renault Megane have been leaked on to the Internet and show a more mature, if slightly duller, design. The images appear to be official press shots and the car is expected to appear next year.
The Megane III is seen in five-door guise only and although the overall design seems quite bland there are a number of interesting design features. The bonnet has strange ridges running along its edges and there are pronounced front wings.
No details yet of engines or prices but you can expect teh car to follow the new trend of more powerful yet cleaner. The images were leaked by www.km77.com.
Discussion
The more and more safety legislation they bring in the more and more boring and similar cars seem to get. Every car has to have the bumper at the same height, sloping bonnet for pedestrian crashes etc. Soon all they will have any input on is the shape of the headlights and the badge on the front!
Something vaguely Renault about the nose, other wise any badge from anywhere globally would sit perfectly well on it. (Not BMW/Audi/MB)
Cue another discussion about concept versus reality akin to C-XF disappointment.
I think its time manufacturers stop the teaser concept that is "90% production reality"... just asking for trouble IMO
Still a new Megane would force the cost of the existing one down a bit so an R26 will become a bit more affordable (bulb changing aside)
