PUG 205 fails to start
Discussion
Much more likely to be something more simple.
Check the HT leads, particularly at the coil, for poor fit and/or for corrosion. Before you start taking things further check for a spark (take out a plug and hold it against the inlet manifold (assuming yours isn't plastic), or listen for the injectors firing using a screwdriver as a stephoscope. Those checks will rule out significant ignition and injection faults, respectively.
If you want to rule out the fuel pump lift up the rear seat and put your hand on the rubber/plastic cover while cranking the engine - you'll feel the pump buzzing if it's working.
The fuse box cover shows what fuse does what, but there's only fifteen of them so it shouldn't take you long to spot if one's blown.

If you're not joined already, 205gtidrivers forum is the most helpful I know, if its a 1.6 or 1.9 GTi with the original engines it'll be an XU engine, as will any mi16 converted ones.
Remember to use the 'search' function on that forum too!
