the little zx runabout failed the mot on friday, on 5 things, 3 are easily sorted but the other 2 ive never done....

macpherson strut upper support bearings. (rough in operation)

does that mean i can just strip and regrease or fit new bearings??


anybody had much experience doing these, how hard are they???



all help gratefully received in advance!!

You will need spring compressors and have to pull the strut apart IIRC, at that point you may as well just change the bearings and not just clean them out, don't think they are too much from GSF really, think they come with top mount rubbers in a set. Tricky parts of the job can be getting the hub away from the strut, but a big hammer generally addresses that issue, besides that compressed springs are always interesting to work with smile

2 hours tops with the right tools,bearings can't be more than £10 each.
