The missus' 206 2.0 CC has a clonk if your gear change is less than perfect, i thought it was a baggy drive shaft but they seem fine, engine mounts seem ok, i'm dammned if i can find anything slack in the drive train, if you do a quick launch you can really get a bang. My friends 206 GTI has started doing the same thing also. Does that bottom mount go slack after a few years?

Check the wishbones the bushes are very prone to going and the arm hits the cradle under severe load.

yep mine does this too, my thoughts are that it is a mount that has gone, will be booking it in soon to see what the problem is, hope its not too expensive. If anyone has experienced this and found out why please let me know, and likewise i'll post my reports when i finally get time to take it to the garage

wishbones are one of the causes of this, just had mine replaced, £80 each, but has pretty much stopped it.
