Folks,

Last night my wee runabout conked out on me all of a sudden. it's a '98 50k mile Clio 1.2 and I'm not sure what the problem is. The engine will turn over but not fire. it had been running fine before hand.

Is there anything common that tends to cause these things to suddenly die?

They're French? laugh

Seriously though, throttle bodies and ECUs can both be problem areas.

As can running out of fuel.... wink

Cheers,

FT.

Try the coil packs, they are a fairly common fault

Crank sensors don't NORMALLY fail while the engine is running, they usually refuse to start, but anything is possible. Will need a modified connector with it if you fit new sensor. Cambelt is common failure given the age if not replaced previously,
