Mileometer on a 95 106

The mileometer on my wifes 106 has stopped working and I wondered if anyones knew whether it was a common problem or an easy fix. Its only happened in the last day or two but I'm hoping to sell it soon and if I went to see a car where it was broken I'd assume it had done double the mileage indicated
