I picked up my new clio 172 and it was completely fine, but then on the motorway home the STOP and handbrake warning flashed on for a split second then went off, though nothing about, then about 15 miles down the road when i disengaged the cruise control they flickered on again. Went to walsall and on the way there the baby airbag light came on with the SERV light but then went off again. On the way back from walsall the last problem mentioned happened again and did not go out till i was almost home, the handbrake and STOP problem happened again but every time i went over bumps the lights flickered then went out. Needless to say it will be going back to the dealer but does anyone know what i should expect. Oh, the other thing is when switched on, to the point when all the lights come on they is a lound buzzing noise in the cabin and it is quite a lound beep when the bonnet is open and the stereo seems very pathetic and only comes out of two very small speakers on the dash not the ones in the doors or rear, any other 172 owners or the like know what is going on.
Not sure what is causing the STOP and handbrake warning lights to come on. Never experienced that problem and is not a common fault ASFAIK.
However, I might have a solution for this:
For all your other problems try a search on cliosport.net. More likely than not someone else has experienced the same in the past.

Most 172s' experience this (mine certainly does!). Basically there is a cable underneath the front passenger seat which has a dodgy connection. Reach under and give it a waggle (technical term ) and the lights should go off. Mine tends to come on when ever I have to move the passenger seat. For all your other problems try a search on cliosport.net. More likely than not someone else has experienced the same in the past.

Dealer came back and said it was the cable and will be getting a new one free of charge, they cannot understand the STOP and handbrake as nothing comes up. The buzzing was a loose cable behind the dashboard. This is a stupid question but on my clio the brake fluid bottle is not where the manual says it is, does anyone know where it is located. However, I might have a solution for this:
