Please don't laugh. I have a '94 Xantia 1.9 td that probably wont make it through its next MOT. Id like to send her out with a bang. I am under the impression that its relativly simple to adjust the fuel regulator to get a few more BHP's / Torques out of it.

Have any of you done this before? and if so what are the benefits / problems?

Does anyone have a guide on how to do it.

thanks

I read about this when I had my 306 Dturbo but never took the risk. Had a mate do this in his 405 though - felt like about 10bhp more but it blew it's head gasket a year later. If you google Peugeot turbo diesel tunning I'm sure you'll find out how.

Other thing if you're gonna end up scrapping the car anyway, have you considered stripping out all the unnessecary weight fom the car? I have a stripped 205 GTi and it makes a World of difference, and having broken up a Xantia for spares I can verify that there's a lot of weight to be taken out of one (have a look at the carpets for a start - they're huge!)

You can adjust the fuel pump and shorten the wastegate arm. This gives approx 15bhp and 30lb/ft more. Its recommended to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. As you have the Bosch pump its a little easier. I know a guy who does it in yorkhire if its any good to you? He charges about £50-60.
