hi just rebuilt the engine in the 205 gti and want to crank the engine over and build up the oil pressure but don't want to bore wash the engine with non burnt fuel as the plugs are out,
i know the fuse board and relays are in the glove box and there is a fuse and a relay for the pump but what manuals i've got don't cover location,
i could probably figure out which one it is off the wiring diagrams but thought it would be quicker to ask on here as i'm sure someone has had problems with them at some point.
cheers scratchchin

Can't remember off the top of my head - just pull the tachymetric relay instead

tachywallywotton what is that where is it located mine is a 1.9 which has electronic defferences from the 1.6 which i think has a tachymetric relay fitted i think on the bulkhead
Edited to say am i right in thinking that the tachymetric relay is used to prime the pump before starting.

The relay controls switching the fuel pump on and off - no relay, no fuel pump. The rest of the ignition system will still work so the engine will turn over, just not fire. On the 1.9 it will by the ecu - up and under the cubby hole to the right of the steering column. About 3" x 1" rectangle block with a chunky black plug on one end. Just pull it off. Also handy for immobilising the car if concerned about it being stolen.

There is a fuse for the fuel pump also but I can't remember which one it is, ask here: http://forum.205gtidrivers.com for more info

ok guys well thanks for the help gonna get it back in the workshop today and have a play see if i can get it going think the easyest option which my mate told me yesterday is to pull the plug of the top of the tank as the pump is located inside.
