Hi All.

A mate is having bother with his Laguna as below - any thoughts or similar experiences ?

Cheers, Mike.

I have a June 2007 Renault Laguna 2.0 dCi 150 and, when the car is used first thing in the morning, the engine misfires slightly for the first mile or so under acceleration. It's like it is 'hiccupping' - that's the best way to describe it. It almost always happens first thing but sometimes doesn't! If the car is left outside after a short drive and isn't used again for several hours, the same thing will happen sometimes when I use it again. Generally though, it's OK after first use of the day. Renault says it cannot find a problem - has anyone else experienced this? The fuel economy isn't that great and I wonder if the two are linked - I had a 2003 1.9 dCi for my last car and it was more economical even though the official figures say it shouldn't be. Where I got about 48 mpg on a motorway run with the 1.9, I am getting about 42 mpg with the 2.0 - not good.

Fuel economy will start lower but should improve after the first few thousand miles. How many has it done?

No ideas on the hiccuping though, has he tried visiting a different Renault garage?

Thanks Bernie - not exactly sure of mileage but not a lot - roughly 5k I think.

He's just tried one garage but it's the usual thing with an intermittant fault when they cant locate it rolleyes

hi the 2.2 dcis had probelms with the egr valve this caused this probelm when cold but once warm it would be fine not sure about the 2.0 dci the only way to sort it is to leave it with the dealer overnight and let them try it in the morning from cold
