As the title says the Clio 197 is apparently on Top Gear this Sunday.

I can't see any reference though to it on their website.

It just makes reference to the VXR8 and the Renault F1 Car.

Lewis Hamilton is on there this week but I don't think the 197 makes an apperance, but there is definitely something Renault related on the show.

If it's not this week, it must be next. This has come from a brand manager at Renault, although i don't know the outcome of the test. Undoubtedly Clarkson will slate it .

Have just seen something on Renaultsport.co.uk from someone who was at this weeks filming.

The 197 wasn't there

However the F1 car was

Lewis Hamilton's lap was good but that is all that was said as they didn't want to spoil the surprise.

Update....

Apparently what happened was that as part of Hammond's training for the F1 car, he first had to drive a 197, before getting in a Renault Single Seater and then progressing to the F1 car.

The 197 was supposed to be in the studio but wasn't so I have no idea if we will see it at all.

It was in the background on the first shot to camera Hammond did on location, but i wonder if they'll ever review the 197?

I believe it has been tested but wasn"t shown as it coincided with Hamsters crash.

I'm sure they would come to the same conclusion as the new Civic Type R FN2 last week - that the 197 is fatter and slower than the predecessor.
