URGENT Help required - Peugeot 106

[Jock Strap]

I have recently sold my 106 1.1 and it's being collected tonight. problem is on the way to work this morning, the engine management light came on! I am worried that the girl won't buy the car due to this problem Anyone have any idea why it could have come on or how to turn it off?

have you tried disconnecting an re-connecting the battery?
