Hi Adam,
Catherine's Other Half, now, this Clio 197....what can I tell you...
I came out of a BMW 330d, so as you can imagine, I had my reservations. These were quickly put to bed. It is an absoloute hoot to drive, plenty of power, incredibly well planted, and drives likeit is on rails. It regularly puts cars twice its price to shame and I like it more every time i drive it.
Minus points - as Catherine said, we bought it from motorpoint, so no choice on spec - no leather, sat nav or audio update, but for what we saved on list, who cares - I can always buy myself a TomTom!!!
Get one, you will not be disappointed......unless you come across a cheap, minted condition V6, but I doubt it!!!!
(edited 'cos she's checkin' my bleedin post!!!)

Hi Guys,
We are thinking of buying a 197- could anyone who has experience with this car go over what you like about it....what you dont like etc etc.
thanks very much, really appreciated
best,
adam
I have just had a 197 for the last 3 months / 11,000 miles. It was a fantastic car, comfortable, quick, managed about 29mpg on average. Don't be concerned by all this talk of 'kangarooing' - I had no issues at all. Yes, you do need to let the engine warm up 1st thing in the morning - if you do it is fine. Go to your local dealer and get a drive in one - there are still number R27s available !
