Hi,

I'm picking up a 172 cup at the weekend, its due its 36k service and i understand that the cambelts need dong as well.

I've been quoted £820 from renault to do this, which i thought is a little bit steep. can anybody recommend me any alternatives?

I'm keeping the car for a long time now(house deposit next) and i'm not bothered about it having Renault service history, its out of warranty anyway. i'm more concerned about getting the job done properly.

Can anybody recommend me any garages in the west yorkshire area that are reliable and offer good service.

How old is it?

At 36k the auxilliary belts need doing.

The cambelt needs doing at 72k/5 years old. My 172 is just 5yrs old so i'm looking to have it done this month.

You want to head over here for the best info on Clio Sports:

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/index.php

I'm on there, as is Polarbert and a few others off here.

Lots of good info - just stay away from the For Sale section - your wallet won't like you! biggrin

I should think it would be nearer the £350 mark. A standard service should set you back around £150, so if I remember correctly its another couple hundred bob for the belts.

Just had a look and I was right: http://greydevilindustries.com/Products/default.as...

The guys who work there are top notch, and do the best work on your car. Highly recommend them.

Just another endorsement for GDI - they look after all of our cars not just the Clio and Sport Spider. Andy is a top guy...

Just had a look. its a bit far for me to go to get it done to be honest (3hr drive) but thanks for the heads up.

I've been recommended RS Tuning in leeds by the cliosport.net forum members

Anybody any experience of them ?

Changing the belts should be cheaper (less labour) on a Cup as it does'nt have the air con getting in the way (see there are some advantages! wink)

ETA I think I paid around about £350 at Rentec (good independent, too far for you though) to get my cambelt changed.

RS Tuning does have a good rep on CS also. No personal experience.
