VTR (overheating & Fuel smell?)

I have two issues with my Saxo VTR 2000 plate only 45,000.

1) It constantly runs above norm temp even though its got a new head,new rad and has been flushed out, AND the water pump has been checked!

2) There is now a very strong smell of fuel with no obvious leaks.

Are these common issues or have i bought a shed?

Have you checked the actual temperature, or are you just going by the gauge? I wouldn't put too much faith in the gauge unless/until it's been calibrated.

Fuel smell is probably the metal fuel filter located next to the tank which corode very quickly and never get changed.Must agree about temp guage anything less than in the red is "normal".
