205 GTI 1.9 "Radio 1 edition"
Discussion
Noticed this on radio 1 website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/established1967/galler...
25 were made. A bit bizarre? Anyway, they're asking if anyone owns one, or have they all gone to the big 205 GTi graveyard with the rest?

here goes,
Black and silver wheels
Radio One Decals
Special Clarion headunit with an acoustic shelf.
Black leather.
AC
Plaque Identifying it is a limited production run.
In 205GTI special edition world circles it's the rarest of them all.
A few still exist I've seen 5 - a club memeber and owner was locating the whereabouts of them all - I understand 2 have been written off.

I think that the best thing about that link is seeing the visual reality of Radio1 fall from something worth listening to, to a corporate nightmare that sounds like hell. Maybe I'm just getting old!
Let me just say..... Radio1, sadly, is pants!
Further edited to add;
I guess it's important that the nation has a shining example of how to do things badly with such consistency!

That one for sale hasn't even got the stickers in the right place!
lol...good old JustGTI'sWhat are these guys like? Do they sell decent stock? I quite a fancy a tidy 205 GTi for general hooning purposes (I was brought up with the 309!).

Is a decent 205 really worth £2.5k these days?!!
Most likely yes, but it depends on what you're after. For that money, you could either get a decent mi16 conversion (like i did) or a standard car that's been looked after, possibly had a respray and/or an engine rebuild. The main problem with 205 values is that some people seem to believe that "original condition" means still running all the original components which will inevitably be close to 20 years old.
I'd much rather put my money into one that's been rebuilt buy someone who enjoys them, rather than one that's been hiding away on someone's garage for years and years.

Overpriced, too.
