Pug 106 cooling fan running all the time
Discussion
I have a problem on my daughter's 106 independence (X reg 2000). On starting, hot or stone cold, the water temperature light cones on, and the kenlowe starts running after about 10 seconds. It runs all the time the engine is running and continues to run non-stop for about 10 minutes after the engine is switched off. While this is not a big problem in itself, it does flatten the battery after a few short journeys. fault seems to be that the engine is stone cold, but the computer system / sensors think that it is hot.
Initially, when she brought it home with the fan running, it was normally warm. I checked that the engine was not overheating, thermostat and water pump were working and concluded that it must be the sender for the temperature guage / fan. Replaced this, and still got the same fault.
Now I do not have a clue. Has anyone had the same fault, or can a Peugeot tech that may be on here give me a clue as to whether there is a relay or anything in the ECU that controls this system further.
Cheers!

Theres a sensor for the fan and a seperate (guage or light) sensor you proberbly changed the wrong one
Ah. Thanks for that - I wondered about the light and fan being on separate circuits. I guessed that the maybe light triggered the fan, but have no idea where any other sensor might be. I'll check around the rad / header tank. The one on the thermostat housing is a connection to the ECU it seems. I changed one further down. Is there another one other than that then?Cheers again.
