Clio 197 has arrived
Discussion
Took delivery on Tuesday of a new Clio 197 from Motorpoint.
So far the car has done 150 miles and the engine is still quite tight.
The only thing I don't like is the fuel consumption and the high reving nature in 6th gear.
Other than that it is a very impressive car, with very good quality materials in the cabin.
Has anyone with a 197 noticed a grinding/squeeking noise from the brakes at very slow speed, for example as you are slowly pulling up at a set of traffic lights.

The problem with the brakes is it coming from the rear? If so this is a known issue so i'd take it back into Renault and tell them to fix it.
Yes I believe it is the back. What exactly is the problem, when I spoke with the local dealer he said it was probably due to it being sat around. It can happen when they are sat around but normally this wears off withing a couple of times of applying the brakes. Renault say that the noise from the brakes will go away after some hard braking or when it's on upwards of 500 miles.
If your really not happy though take it to Renault and ask them to check the brakes though it does sound like the common problem of making a noise when pulling up without to much pressure on the pedal.
