Saxo VTR - how hot does yours run?
Discussion
Recently bought a Saxo VTR 2000 (phase2). Love the car even more fun than a GTTDi Golf I had which was an overweight Buffalo in comparison!
Allthough build quality comapres to something Hotwheels would make. I have noticed however that in town situations the engine sits just below the 3/4 mark on the temp gauge. I had the gasket skins replaced (didn't require a skim) as it was constantly running in the red, but wonder if maybe there are more issues or do they simply sit a little higher when not in constant airflow?

My girlfriend has a 106 XSi 1.6, very similar car, and it always runs at somewhere around 3/4s. Noticed the same with my mate's old Quiksilver. Could very easily be a characteristic of the engine or the way the temp gauge is calibrated, remember you've no idea what 3/4s on that gauge actually means. I wouldn't worry about it, remember, its French, first port of call with anything like this is, are the gauges/senders accurate. Answer is usually no.
