The airflow mass meter thingy is pretty cheap and generic across the 406Hdi/306Hdi's from what I gather.

Loads in scrapper or on Ebay... just check the P/No's...

Not sure on earthing. Mine seems fine. I've heard of issues with the looms being worn and that can cause no end of problems and gremlins you chase around till you realise it's the loom...

If it NEEDS a new one, let them fit it. I would fix it and sell the car rather than have a buggered car that will sell for alot less than fixing it (if it's that simple)

Logic dictates it's more than that hence selling it as if it is simply that.

Cheers mate, didnt think that logically. Are there any other common faults that you know of on them, have you had yours chipped, at what milage and how much bhp/ft lb did it increase, has ferformance improved massively.

A few faults mainly.

Lower crank pulley fails and gets noisey, these are about £100 and then fitting if someone else does it.

Erm, pumps can go, but this is rare, fairly steep, probably a DIY/2nd hand engine swap bits over job if you could rather than new stuff.

Best bet is the pug306.net forums, loads of info there on the Hdi 306's

As per tuning, well I had a Celtic map on at one point, which was 122bhp and 205lbft from 93bhp and 165lbft. It was a bit smokey for me but others had no issues (mine was decatted which might be an issue if that isn't capturing the smoke as much!?)
SP Tuning remap is ~ 118bhp and £190, well worth the money imho and for many the default choice. Perfect blend of power, torque and economy. 90bhp stock and 1131kg ain't so good, but a 30% increase in power and torque is very noticeable... ~ 17.7s 1/4 mile at 78mph and 0-60 in 9.5s so not too bad for what it is.
