Hi my suspension has a red knurled wheel on the shock unit. Is this to adjust the damping as it doesn't want to turn, or just for show??

Yep, it's an adjuster, but it'll be pinned as standard by Renault. I've seen no reason to adjust mine as Renaultsport know far more about chassis dynamics than I do!

Some people over on www.cliotrophy.co.uk have had it unpinned, though it can be tricky to do as they are threadlocked in place.

Cheers I have just figured it, out a little grubscrew holds the wheel in place and the wheel comes off with the pin still in, but I have reassembled it with the pin in for the time being.

Its has 40 clicks for the adjustment and is set at 20 from the factory.

I only adjust mine for trackdays as going any harder on the road is a bit to much.
The factory setting is the best compromise for our appalling roads.

How many clicks harder do you go for track days? What disc pad combination are you using I don't know what pads are currently fitted but they lack bite and feel and the excessive peddle pressure I am putting on makes the tail unsettled as if the back pads are better.

Go for Ferodo DS2500 pads if you want to upgrade. Excellent pads for road and track. Email me if you want a price (patrickr@demon-tweeks.co.uk). I run a Clio 182 myself.
