Hey guys. Im just new to this site. Figured someone here would be able to help me out. Iv got myself a 1990 205GTi 1.9. Its the cat converter model. How do twin webber carbs work in a fuel injected car. And would it be worth my while installing a set under the hood??
Cheers guys: Dev

Um....
Carbs vs. fuel injection is an 'either or' situation- you can't have both!

Getting an upgraded ECU on a fuel injected engine would give you gains similar to upgrading a normal carb'd engine to webbers.

Not necessarily cheaper, a decent ecu will set you back about £600. If you want more power, check out some of the dedicated 205 GTI forums and find out what mods work best for the car. An ecu upgrade will give best results on an engine that's already been tuned a little.

Induction wise the 205 GTIs are pretty good as standard so look at a Peugeot Sport exhaust and 4-2-1 manifold as your first mods then if that's not enough stick in some larier cams, at which point an ECU upgrade is a good idea. Then you can look into throttle bodies and a bit of headwork (although the head is also pretty good as standard) and thats pretty much it without spending megabucks!
