Xantia Activa engine into a 205
Discussion
Yep I have done it.
You need a different upper engine mount either 306xsi mount or a mi16 mount. You need a mi16 clutch and flywheel.
The lower engine mount needs to be extended about 20-30mm to swing the engine back a bit to clear the servo/master cylinder. The gear rods will need bending slightly and the exhaust manifold will fit to a standard gti downpipe (cheap type without the splitter ideally) but the D/P needs the flange chopping off and welding on at an angle to match up.
The wiring is not particulary difficult it is just that there is a lot of it that isn't used so you need a wiring diagram and some patience. The tacho wont work either unless you modify the feed to it as it works off a different signal. However I think clocks out of a different model will work.
You will need to make some custom piping up for an intercooler (i have used a 2wd cossie) and the radiator will probably need to be dropped.
Think thats most things, oh and it makes for a bloody quick torquey car.
Go on 205gtidrivers forum, there is loads and loads of info on this conversion.

Here's a little video of mine running unsilenced, just got it on the road and so is not anywhere near finished yet.

I'm currently helping a friend do exactly the same conversion. When he gets round to putting his build diary up i'll put a link to it.
Its a good job i have an Activa as it makes a good reference for finding out where parts have gone missing during the build
Its not as straight forward as an Mi16 conversion and a lot of work is needed for it to look right.
