Mk1 106 1.1 head gasket
Discussion
Mothers head gasket has gone it appears.
My dad has come to this conclusion, and I haven't looked at the car so can't definitely confirm this is true, nor have I enquired too much about the symptoms.
My question it, before I go out and buy the wrong bits, is whether this engine has an overhead cam meaning that the belt should ideally be changed at the same time.
Dunno whether its carb or injection off the top of my head, but the block and head are the same anyway I believe. It's the engine that was the citreon AX motor all those years ago.
Look forward to your help.

Cheers tricky.
Will be doing the job myself, and will be sitting the head on the bench and checking it end to end, side to side, and across the diagonals with a DTI for flatness.
For the sake of a few sheckles I might just drop it in to get it skimmed anyway .... bit of extra compression for mothers steed!
