might have to give that a try. i was speaking to someone about the 306 dt a while ago who said the set up of the engine can be tweaked abit and you can then get a fair bit more power from it
theres some stuff here about increasing the boost which is quite an easy mod if your car has the kkk turbo. Ive been over 125 in an HDI with a chip that upped the fuel rail pressure, 100 sounds quite conservative for a d-turbo?
My 306 is the old 1.9 XUD lump and is running with a little bit more boost than standard with the fuelling adjusted to suit. It'll show 117 on the clock which is closer to 110 real leptons and that's limited by gearing, stops accelerating at the point where the power starts to drop away at 4500ish revs.
The 306Td is a little shorter geared vs the Hdi. My Hdi is showing an indicated 100mph at 3500rpm, wheras the 306 Tdi is probably nearer 3750rpm, and the older 405 Tdi is almost 4000rpm for 100mph.
I'm pretty sure a stock Tdi 306 won't move much past 100mph real, probably 105mph indicated purely because the power is tailing off there anyway, and at 92bhp they are not really rockets anyway. Even tuning them up means not much more speed as the peak power is around 4000rpm however you tune one, so your really ragging the engine at 100mph+ anyway (probably not too nice on the engine)...
These cars are more about the 50-90mph increment where they are pretty flexible and their short gearing and relatively light weight make them pretty nippy for what they are.
