Hiya

I have a 172 Cup which is due to be MOT'd in 3 weeks and hasn't been serviced since Feb 06 (although technically it isnt due a service till 48k - its on just over 44k now) Today the exhaust fell off !!

Can anyone recommend anywhere to fit / supply a new exhaust in Nottingham ??

Should get it serviced MOT'd and the exhaust sorted all at the same time - is it liable to work out cheaper ??

Can't help with Nottingham area, but have had the same done on mine (exhaust, service and MOT) of late so might be able to advise.

You might as well wait for the service now and have it done with the MOT, unless you are keen to shift the car soon (or find somewhere very close to you to get it done at) as it's only a month overdue right now, another month on top won't do the service history too much damage.

I'd advise arranging the service and MOT somewhere decent then having a decent exhaust system sent there from one ne of the know suppliers, such as K-Tec, Powerflow, Blueflame etc. Don't whatever you do have the Renault exhaust fitted, as it will fail in the same place.

You won't save a huge amount by combining all three bits of work, but as the car will have to go on the ramps for a service so you might save a few quid depending upon how the garage charge for jobs.

It's a problem with many after-market exhaust, not really K-Tecs in particular, athough there were more compaints abotu their original version than the revised one.

I've got the newer one and had a few knocking noises which I sorted out myself, now its bedded in there is a slight tinnyness when decelerating I need to attend to, but nothing major. I'm very happy with the noise of the system and performance seems good too.

It sounds like a tank, but goes like a jet!

Having a performance exhaust fitted was initially a bit dissapointing as all that nasty back-pressure was brought back. Mind you being able to hear myself think again did make up for it
