On earlier Xantias, I believe it was possible to deactivate the immobiliser by entering the code - and then unplugging the keypad, leaving the immobiliser permanently off.

Does anybody if it's possible to do something similar with the transponder immobilser on later Xantias?

(Reason for asking - got a Xantia 2 with just the one key. Citroen will doubtless want one arm, one leg, my first-born, plus VAT for a spare key)

Can you take the key apart? if so you may be able to remove the chip thats inside it, you can then glue the chip somewhere near your ignition switch, trouble is your imobiliser is permanantly deactivated.
