Just remembered about this after it fell on me in the garage a while back!

Mine was split when I bought the car and started hanging down a few weeks back so I removed it to make it safe I went about life... Having asked at the local Renault dealer this bit of rubbery plastic will rob me to the tune of £120+vat, so I'm wondering:

* Is there a cheaper alternative available? Or
* Does everyone just go without anyway?

Only alternative I know of is a carbon fibre 'look' one that K-tec sell. Its cheaper than a replacement from Renault, but is more brittle I believe so easier to damage.

That'll be this one then:

Cost is £95+VAT (£111.63).

Not sure I'd be bothered with that, as trying to avoid any exterior boy-racer additions, in favour of keeping it a Q-car pocket-rocket.

Frustrating that Renault charge so much for a part that will almost definitely be a consumable on the lowered cars, on my Cupra-R the splitter was similarly low (managed to scrape it when driving it from the delivery truck round to the back of my house!), but they charged a reasonable £30something for it, knowing that most owners would at that cost simply have it replaced each service.

Yep what Renault charge for it is a piss take. One might turn up on ebay if your lucky.

Know what you mean about keeping it a Q-car. Some people do choose to just not replace it. Personally I think a Cup looks a bit odd without it for some reason

Yeah, I keep looking at it and it doesn't quite look right, not sure if it would have bothered me if I'd got the car without it, but knowing that something is gone really irks me, as do the two parts of the splitter sitting in my garage!

My guess is that it's more of a marketing addendum than engineering based, but even so I think I will get it sorted at some point.

Oh yeah it blatantly does'nt function as any kind of aerodynamic aid!
