306 Cabriolet Diesel
Discussion
Don't think it ever happened, but if it did it would have been a HDi.
I've converted a 405 Mi16 to 1.9 diesel before, only cos it had no engine. Fairly straightforward, but the question of the 306 begs....why? If its fitted with the S16 engine and you're not getting surprisingly good economy like all the other 306 S16/405 Mi16 ph2/ZX 16v etc then you've got a problem. They're not quick, but they are frugal.
But in essence, yes it could be done. Easiest engine to fit would be the XUD9TE (1905cc Turbo) due to a much smaller loom compared with the complex HDI setup.

Why?
Because it's a car Peugeot should have made before the likes of Audi and Saab made diesel cabriolets.
Because I like Peugeot diesel engines more than their petrol.
And maybe because I have a cheap and plentiful supply of diesel!
Agreed TD would be easier than HDI but I think either should be relatively straight forward.
