clio 182 buyers questions
Discussion
Just a few bits of advice really. The 182 Cup is not worth it over the standard one, as there isnt much difference in weight, but the non cup has a much better interior.
If he wants "Cup" packs then the giveaway is the darker coloured wheels. Almost every review seems to say its essential, but i've read plenty to suggest that theres not much difference one way or another. Personally I've got the non cupped pack one, and it still handles like an absolute demon. However, a cup packed one probably will have a higher re-sale value (but OTOH, a non cup packed one may be cheaper to buy, and, its a personal thing, but on some colours i actually prefer the silver wheels on the non cup version, at least i do on my silver 182).
That said, if I was buying again, ideally, I would look out for a racing blue model with cup packs and gordini stripes, better still if they have option recaro buckets.
You could go for the Trophy, and they are nice, but I would be aware that the suspension will be expensive to replace, when it needs doing (about £2,000 IIRC).

Thanks for the replies especially re the cup options I know that would be a preference for him. are there any major expenses he should expect with these cars, short or long term, plus what is most important when looking at the cars and driving them in terms of condition. I suppose most will be low mileage so should be worry free? What are annual service costs like? Are there any recommended upgrades people opt for?
