mine has! I'm gonna replace it asap, but is this a common problem? The car is a T reg 1.6 306.

Cheers

I think its fairly common for corrosion to set in with some models of the peugeot range if damp has got in after a period of non use. My old 106 Gti's cam cover was going the same way, damp had got under the paint and it had bubbled up through the paint. The metal was corroded but not rotten through. I'd be very suprised if the cover were completely rotten...

Maybe removal, shot blasting and repainting would be the way to go...

It has flakes of metal, in layers, under the rubber gasket, which folds up around the cover for a bit. I think if i poked it with a screwdriver, i could make a hole.

Hmmm maybe best to get a replacement if its got that bad. Mine was flakey but only on the top of the cam cover, around the edges were ok.
