When is this car going to be launched?

I have read far to many reviews about the 197 been to refined and would be very interested to see how much better the more focused versions of this car turn out.

There's no real clues about the 197 Cup (or similar derivative). Because of the massive demand though there's bound to be something appear maybe a year or so into the 197 model production. I can't imagine they will wait for 'Phase 2' 197 which will be about 2 - 2.5 yrs after initial launch. Just seen that Recaros have been launced on 197, only weighing 3kg each! That may be a pointer to the weight they are trying to save to bring out a Cup style model.

They look great.

I spoke to a few people about it at the Motorshow and the general impression was there would be a cup, but no Trophy editon.

Although, I'd imagine as with the 182 and Megane, market forces could change their mind somewhat as demand will likely be high. I wonder whether they might tune the engine in some way (turbo..) for the Cup/Trophy editions, as weight saving gets more difficult with the new safety features, so a little more go may be required scratchchin

That looks Mk1 Golf size, possibly smaller

If they could get 800 Kg with a 1.8L or even the 2.0L engine in 182 spec that'd go like a rocketship.

It would be a shame to do that & spoil the entire Twingo concept
