Laguna is leaking in
Discussion
Cheers steve but there is no wet patches above and around the footwells to suggest its leaking in from the doors boot etc and its only when its been raining heavy even if ive not been out driving so that should rule out a hole underneath. Is it possible there is a drain from the sunroof blocked or or summit?????? Grabbing at straws at the moment.

Mmm is this a Laguna 2?? When I had mine I had a problem with it leaking from somewhere near the top of the A-pillar onto the passenger seat. This was found to be down to a blockage near the sunroof drain holes if I remember correctly. Might not be the same as you're getting the problem in the rear, but worth looking into.
I hope your dealer is more helpful than mine though... The amount of time they had the car for this and the many dozens of other things it went in for was scary!!!
Hope it get's sorted soon.
Paul.

I've currently got my drivers seat in my bedroom after ripping it out on Sunday. I've drained the water but I've still not found where the water is coming from though...

The water can arrive at the footwell from many directions that's why I said the take the seats and carpet out so you can see where the water comes from. Once you know which side of the well it arrives you can start tracing it up to the source.
Steve
dealers can only try and fix the crap that the manufacturers make goes for all cars
check the sunroof drain tubes 4 in total 2 at the back 2 at the front youll need to drop the roof lining
if the car has had a screen fitted this is always a favourite for leaking and can be a pain to diag as you end up removing the dash to confirm the leak. check the screen for renault signs or diamonds youll no then if it's been changed
also another thing to check is that the door's inside panels, behind them should be plastic membrane's if they are damaged i,e have hole's or are not secured properly water will get inside the car also check the door drain's
are not blocked and the scuttle panel drain's are not blocked wet carpets at the back doesnt always mean that the leak is from the rear as the water can run to the back before it soak's right in to the carpets/backing

True, but I do feel that over 4 months to sort out a gearbox that was stuck in 5th is pushing it a bit!! I wasn't in any rush to get it back though, so I must admit I wasn't pestering them for it
Sorry a bit off topic, I'll be quiet now!!
4 months i would of been sacked
i cant emphasize how much renault are clamping down big time on there dealers now and are pushing to make big improvements in aftersales
and getting shot of run down dealerships that to be honest should be bulldozed
i hope the 4 month's wait was for back order'd parts and not incompitent management
It's a good question... As I said I wasn't bothered about getting the car back (it was a company car that had been so much trouble and inconvenience that I was glad to see the back of it), so I really didn't contact them to chase them up. I'd like to think that if I was a normal customer they'd have moved a little quicker...
